FOUNDER OF FIRM

Davood has 40 years of experience in building design, technology and construction. He has worked on all scales of projects, both in the U.S. and internationally with emphasis on housing, office and retail.

Davood is a firm believer that the quality of our wellbeing is tightly connected with the quality of the built environment surrounding us. “As architects, it is our responsibility to make sure that the built environment is in harmony with the end user’s needs, its surroundings, and the natural environment while satisfying functional and financial demands and constraints inherent in each project. That is the essence of our passion and profession, and a key to a successful project.” This belief led him to establish DSH Design Group in 2001.

Prior to forming DSH Design Group, Davood served as Senior Associate Project Designer and Manager for two prominent Boston architectural firms, Sumner Schein and Carter & Burgess. He continues his hands-on management role daily ensuring each project’s success and client satisfaction through a smooth process. His priority at work, the result is an outstanding design –always on time and on budget.

Davood is a frequent presenter at the MFA for contemporary Persian calligraphy. His sense of form and space as an architect are reflected in his skillful application of ink to paper. He graduated with Honors from National University of Iran with a Master’s Degree in Architecture and Urban Planning.

Davood enjoys family life with his wife and two children, a son and a daughter.

Our designs are the result of a creative approach to project programs. We strive in our design process to achieve a fine balance between Form and Function within the restraints of the project program and budget. Our design process is not an isolated phase but an integral part of a holistic approach that takes into consideration the milestones of the project in the very early part of the design within the budget and the schedule; the two most important elements of any development.

Project efficiency through a Design-Build process

DSH Architects strongly recommends Design-Build Contracts for its efficiency in every stage of design and construction. The Design-Build process provides Value Engineering during the design phase, maintains continuity between the design and construction phase, expedites the permitting process, and eliminates conflicts, delays and cost overruns that might otherwise occur in the traditional Design-Bid-Build process. DSH Architects partners with top-rated contractors under its umbrella and leads the Design-Build process, thus maintaining full quality control throughout design and construction.

Registration

DSH Architects is certified by NCARB to register in every state and has performed its services on projects throughout the New England states as well as in New Jersey and Florida. DSH welcomes opportunities in other states.
